How To Make A Gold Painted Oyster Shell Keychain

Learn how to make a gold-painted oyster shell keychain and make it for your man on Father’s Day.

Give your special man for fathers day an extraordinary gift of oyster shell… Make him something that he will proudly use every day. I created a refreshing oyster shell key chain made from the oysters we saw to eat.

Step 1:

Clean the oyster shell. I use a mixture of white vinegar and water. Let the oysters sit for 5 hours and dry them before you paint them.

Step 2:

Drill a hole with a Dremel. It takes a few minutes. Hold the Dremel directly down on the shell and apply pressure.

Paint the outer edge of the oyster shell with gold.

Step 4:

Insert the key chain through the hole.

Step 5: Gift Wrap

You can put the key chain in a pretty box and wrap it with botanical printables. Now, don’t you think this is the perfect Father Day gift?
