How To Carve A Pumpkin
I love seeing all the creative ways people carve pumpkins its pretty cool. When I was looking for ideas for a face for my pumpkin my grandson decided that a pumpkin shark was it. So I looked around and found a cool video that demonstrated how to.
Supplies:
- Sharp Knife: (This part should only be done by an adult)
- Pumpkin
- Pen
- Tooth picks
How To Carve Shark On Pumpkin
- Draw a circle around the stem to cut it out. That is how you will pull out the pumpkins seeds and clean it out.
My grandson had so much fun pulling out the stems. He helped me clean out the seeds which was the fun part. After we cleaned out the pumpkin we saved the seeds because we will be roasting the pumpkin seeds.
(Adults only) Draw the shark eyes and with the sharp knife cut them out carefully..
This part I checked out the video on how to create shark teeth. With a pen draw the teeth. Create one big tooth and the rest are shorter ones. With a sharp knife carve out the teeth but leave enough of the skin of the pumpkin so you can lightly lift the skin to create teeth.
Take you time and carve out the teeth.
Slice off some of the skin carefully, otherwise you can remove the entire teeth. Which may be ok since its all fun.
Once the pumpkin is done you will want to add little fin at the base of the forehead. I used the cutout of the eye. With a tooth pick place it on the forehead.
My grandson was just excited with the outcome. We placed the pumpkin in the center of the table with a candle inside.
