How To Make A Seashell Heart Shaped Trinket Box
On my way back from Beaufort we stop at the beach to walk around and found little white shells on the beaches. It got me thinking for my next project for my blog. I just love using seashells for crafts. I could not find enough at the beach so I stopped at Hobby Lobby to get additional seashells. Since it was Valentine season they were selling cute heart shaped boxes that would be perfect for my next project.
Supplies For Heart Shaped Trinket Box:
- Bag of small seashells
- DecoArt Vintage Wash
- Glue
- Heart shaped box
- Cloth or brush
How To Make A Seashell Heart Shaped Trinket Box
Step 1:
With a clean cloth dip into the vintage wash and rub onto the wooden box until its completely covered with the wash. You can use a brush but it’s so much faster with a cloth.
Step 2:
After the paint has dried. Glue the shells onto the top of the box. You can place the shells any way you want. Each design is different so be creative. The glue I used was gorilla glue stick.
Step 3:
Try to keep the shells all the same size to make it easy to glue.
Step 4:
Let the shells try overnight before you use it. There are so many things you can store inside them. Since I made two I kept one and gave the other to my daughter. I am planning on using the boxes for my rose and lavender potpourri or it can make a perfect box for my jewelry.
I love my trinket box now. Its going to look great on my side table by my bed.
