Nature Decor Ideas for 2014

Filed Under: color, home and garden

For 2014 my decor ideas will be a combination of  modern, vintage, simple and nature ideas. Bold color is going to  play an important role as well. This will also include any CRAFT  DIY that I would like to share with your all!

Nature Decor Ideas for 2014

Feature painted walls will add that fun appeal to a room.  This year I am building a new home and I have been looking at colors such as turquoise, purple, blue and green and will be adding subtle touches of this color throughout my home.

Because nature is a big part of my home-life I will be adding some of this element  such as tree stump end table, oyster shell flooring and concrete flooring with river rock design. Did you know! that concrete flooring costs about 1/3 the price than hardwood floors. Early part of the year I will have a post and page on the construction of my home.   A Drift Wood lamp is on my agenda for the next Project on my list.

Furniture ideas for 2014

When it comes to furniture I  love contemporary, classy and elegant .   I love reusing furniture pieces I own. Vintage furniture never goes out and combining them with new is my favorite way to decorate.

Junking around for unique items in 2014

I’ll invest in something small and unique items to add the WOW factor.  I’m will be rummaging through antique shops and consignment shops looking for sustainable wood such as bamboo mirrors, cane chairs  and rattan furniture. Keeping NATURE! thing very much alive.  I have upholstered many of my old chairs and sofas  in white because it will make the room look clean and light!

I just followed my email you sent me to your blog. I love home also. I love decorating and trying to make things old; feel and look new. I can see that we have a lot in common, but no my home does not look like yours. I love the turquoise also. My living room is a brushed rose color, I use green, blue & white porcelain with mirror framed in darker silver, and picture frames of silver. The fire place is white. But, still nothing like yours. This is beautiful.

    Thanks for sharing.

I love the color choices. I also like the idea of combining vintage pieces with more modern ones. It gives the room personality.
