How To Decoupage Gift Boxes With Wallpaper
When it comes to gift wrapping I try to reuse last years ribbons and think of ideas to gift wrap for the holidays without breaking the bank. If you know me by now I save everything. I found the leftover wallpaper from the dining room project and thought this would be great option for gift wrapping. I am taking it to the next level by showing you how to decoupage gift boxes with wallpaper.
Supplies needed:
- Wallpaper
- Wallpaper adhesive or decoupage glue
- Brush or roller
- Ribbon
DIY Decoupage Gift Boxes With Wallpaper
- Measure the wall paper
Cut out the wallpaper 2 inches bigger so you have room for error.
Step 2: Glue
With a roller or a wallpaper brush apply the wallpaper adhesive or decoupage glue onto the paper. I used the wallpaper adhesive because I had some leftover. Fold the edges as if you were to wrap the box with traditional way of wrapping.
Step 3:
Let the edges dry for a few hours before using as a gift box.
The reason why its better to fold the edges this way. The wallpaper will wrinkle and possible rip on the corners if you fold over into the inside of box.
I love how my box is wrapped now. You can decorate the boxes with ribbon. If you don’t want to glue the wallpaper onto the box you can wrap the boxes with the wallpaper and use scotch tape. You won’t be able to use the wallpaper again but at least you are saving money and the environment.
