In this guide, we’ll walk you through simple steps to combine fragrant soaps and delicate pressed flowers, resulting in a stunning, aromatic masterpiece. Let’s get started on this fun and rewarding project!
Pressed Flower Soap

Materials Needed:
- Transparent glycerin soap base
- Dried, pressed flowers (ensure they’re pesticide-free)
- Soap mold (silicone molds work best)
- Rubbing alcohol in a spray bottle
- Microwave-safe bowl or double boiler
- Stirring stick or spoon
Instructions:
Prepare Your Work Area:
Lay out your dried, pressed flowers and soap mold on a clean, flat surface.

Lightly spritz the soap mold with rubbing alcohol to prevent bubbles.
Melt the Soap Base:
Cut the glycerin soap base into small cubes for even melting.
Place the cubes in a microwave-safe bowl.

Microwave in 30-second intervals, stirring in between, until fully melted. Alternatively, use a double boiler.
Pour the First Layer:
Pour a thin layer of melted soap into the mold.
Lightly spritz with rubbing alcohol to reduce bubbles.

Add the Pressed Flowers:
Carefully place the pressed flowers face down into the thin soap layer.
Arrange them as desired, gently pressing them into the soap.
Pour the Remaining Soap:
Slowly pour more melted soap over the flowers until the mold is full.
Spritz the top with rubbing alcohol to eliminate surface bubbles.

Pressed Flower Soap (let it set)
Allow the soap to cool and harden completely. This may take a few hours at room temperature.
For quicker results, place the mold in the refrigerator for about 30 minutes.
Unmold the Soap:
Gently press the molds to release the soap.
If the soap is stubborn, place it briefly in the freezer to help release it.
Finishing Touches:
Trim any rough edges with a knife if needed.
Wrap the soap in parchment paper to keep it fresh.
Tips:
- Choose flowers with flat, delicate petals for the best appearance.
- Optional: Add essential oils or natural colorants to the melted soap for scent and color.
Enjoy your beautiful, handmade pressed flower soap!
