Dreaming of a Blue Christmas Chinoiserie Stocking

Dreaming of a Blue Christmas Chinoiserie Stocking

Its been a few weeks since I went to Italy. Capri was such an inspiring place. I got inspired to design these chinoiserie holiday stockings because of the beautiful blues there. For the last few years, my daughter and I have traveled to Italy. Capri made such an impression. We thought it be how fun to design some holiday stockings in a chinoiserie blue.

Fabric For Stockings
After some research in fabrics, I found a cotton chinoiserie fabric at Spoonflower. Spoonflowers has the most gorgeous fabrics. Many of the designs on the fabrics are paintings from the artist. The fabric is floral toile with birds, bees and butterflies, entwined by ribbons, in a rich ink. The designer is  LillyOak.

Fabric for  border and bow I choose a Robert Kaufman Fabrics. This light weight woven yarn blue dyed gingham fabric is the perfect contrast I needed.  I figured it would make the floral fabric pop. The white cuff I chose a white linen also by Robert Kaufman Fabrics, this lightweight  linen has a luxurious feel with a full-bodied drape.

The blue gingham border adds a beautiful contrast against the fabric. It really makes the stocking  stand out. There is a long ribbon that is tied into a bow and used to hang the stocking on your mantel.

These stockings can be made with your initials or without.  You can order them on my Etsy Shop, They stockings can be custom designed in sizes from 14 inches to 20 inches. The stockings in this post are 14 inches long. I wanted a shorter version for my mantel. It was a unique look.

The holidays are around the corner and these stockings would make great look for your mantel. Free shipping on all ordered before November 10, 2019.
