Supplies For DIY Tomato Cage Ghosts

Step By Step How To Make A Ghost from Tomato Cage.

Step 1: Prepare Your Tomato Cage

First, we’ll start by setting up the tomato cage as the frame, giving our ghost its tall, human-like structure. Begin by positioning the tomato cage upright on a flat surface to ensure stability. Spread the circular base wide enough to create a sturdy foundation, and secure it with zip ties or stakes if necessary to prevent it from tipping over. The cage’s vertical bars will serve as the spine and limbs of the ghost, providing a solid form to drape the fabric over.

Step 2: Add the ball for Head

You can use either a soccer ball for the head or a large foam ball. Place it on the top of the cage and use tape to make sure it stays put.

Step 3: Add the sheet

Throw a sheet over the tomato cage, ensuring it drapes evenly on all sides to create a smooth, ghostly appearance. Adjust the body of the ghost by gently tugging and arranging the fabric until it falls in natural folds, giving it a flowing, eerie look. Make sure the sheet covers the entire structure, and tweak the positioning as needed to achieve the spooky effect you desire.

Step 4: Add a bow

To create distinct ghost characters, you can add bows to differentiate between a female ghost and a male ghost. For the female ghost, you could place a simple, cute bow on top of its head, giving it a charming and recognizable look. For the male ghost, consider using a bowtie instead. This small accessory, positioned neatly under the ghost’s face, adds a touch of character and makes it easy to tell the difference.
