Create a Mediterranean Wall With Decorative Plates.

If you love the Mediterranean decor than you will love my decorative plates to hang on the wall. For an easy DIY, create a Mediterranean wall with decorative plates.

Create a Mediterranean Wall With Decorative Plates.

To create a Mediterranean bedroom I added blue and white accessories throughout the room. The bedspread color I could not be any happier because the color is the perfect blend of beige that accents the blue. The main attraction in this room was the decorative plates I put on the wall. To learn how to create this wall decor follow my easy steps.

Materials:

  • Inspired by a Tuscany/Mediterranean pottery I purchased these Cynthia Rowley plates which were picnic plates, so if one drops it can’t break.
  • I used command strips for hanging picture frames.

Command Strips

  1. Turn the plates over and put 2 to 4 command strips on the back of the plate. The reason why? The back of the plates is 1/2 inch lower than the front. Four strips were the magic number to make the plates even to the wall.

Β Placing the plates on the wall

One of my favorites of all my finds in this bedroom is the doors in which I made into lighting fixtures.Β  I centered the plates in between the doors. Have a specific area to work made it easier to measure. I penciled a mark where each plate would go.

Make sure each plate is secure on the wall before you add all them on. If they don’t fall off in 10 minutes they are secured on. Sometimes the paint can have a waxy film on it. You can sand that specific area if you find the command strips do not work. If its latex paint then it should be fine for the command strips to adhere.

I am so excited to see it all the plates come together. The plates add the perfect blend of Mediterranean touch to my blue bedroom. I can picture myself or a guest lying around in bed having a cup of tea or coffee looking around thinking of being in near the Mediterranean coast.
