How To Create a Jaw Dropping Laundry Room
Above is my current laundry room. My reclaimed shelving is the first thing you see when you walk into this space. The key focus of my design will be to make that area pop.
The laundry room and office space are considered a suite. I designed it so I can easily flow from my office space, through pocket doors, and into my laundry room. A mix of light cabinetry, saddle color concrete flooring and my favorite barn-wood door and shelving.
Here is a little background of my home. We have been in it for almost two years. It’s a contemporary home with a cottage and minimalist vibe. My husband and I designed the home so it would be easy to care for with lots of sustainable and industrial elements. The main living area has concrete flooring through-out the living space and upstairs is light-stained reclaimed flooring.
Botanical Print/Sconce/Vintage Shutters/Hat/Concrete Vase/Wire Baskets
The first step in this challenge was finding inspiration from Pinterest and other sources. Botanicals are speaking to me! There will be botanical prints to give a beautiful and warm tone.
I’ll also try adding some contemporary pieces like concrete vases with simple lines. Incorporating modern touches is important to me so that will be a challenge.
In the office space, I am doing something bold and adding a shutter DIY lighting piece, which is reminiscent of my last challenge where I did a DIY vintage door lighting piece. Next week’s post will be exciting because I will be introducing my lighting piece DIY.

Maria, I love those concrete floors and the combination of natural and painted wood in your laundry room. The room has great bones and I can so see why you would want to go ‘botanical’…it really lends itself to it.
Looking forward to seeing the progression and finished project.
Until then, be safe!
