My favorite time of year for decorating is fall. Living by the beach makes fall fun because I get to add touches of coastal elements to remind me of summer. Coastal fall decorating is adding elements from living by the water to my home. It could be in the form of oyster shells, seashells, colors of the sea such as blues, greens and whites.

Coastal fall decor also is pumpkins in white, blues and beige colors. Its a warm blankets in lighter hues such as beige, blues and green. It’s basically changing the deep fall colors we normally think of fall having to lighter colors.

Let’s look into how you can add coastal decorating ideas in each room in your home. The basic components that each room has that it’s affordable to make, its coastal and fall related.

• Living Room: When I look at the space in the living room I ask myself what can I add that won’t break the bank and will give the space a coastal fall vibe. The focus of the room are the sofas and the coffee table. So I add a large basket I found at HomeGoods filled with large pinecones that I collected while walking around the outdoors.

• Bedroom: Again what is the focus of the bedroom. What can I do affordably to add a new look to my bed. I changed up the sheets to a pretty coastal peach color and added pumpkins the color of the sand.

• Dining room: Since my dining room is used for family gathering often. I have the table set for the entire fall. This year I used star fishes for the coastal part and pinecones for the fall.
