Celebrating Summer Solstice

Disclosure: This post has been compensated by Wayfair. All opinions are mine alone.

A magical day where the days are longer than the night!

For those of us in the Northern hemisphere, the summer solstice is a time of celebration of the longest day of the year. Everyone around the world will celebrate this event in their own way. I will honor this day with some quality time with my family outdoors and serving some delicious dessert. For a super fun idea, I made fresh limeade and lemon bars which is one of my favorite recipes for the summer. My dessert table consists of my 3 Tiered Metal Farmhouse Tray, along with a Glass Dispenser for the limeade which you can all find at Wayfair. I added hanging lanterns and a big ice bucket which was very much needed since it also felt like the hottest day of the year.

How To Make Limeade

1 cup fresh lime juice

1cup fresh lemon juice

 1 cup of sugar

4 cups cold water

ice cubes

In a pitcher combine lime and lemon juice, sugar, water, and ice cubes.

Here is the Lemon Bar Recipe:

2 cups of flour

1 cup of sugar

1 cup of butter

4 eggs

2 cups of white sugar

1/2 cup of lemon juice

1/4 flour

1/2 teaspoon of baking powder

For base mix the ingredients together in a bowl, then press into a pie dish. Bake the base crust for 10 minutes in the oven. For top beat eggs, 2 cups of sugar, lemon juice, 1/4 flour, baking powder in a bowl. Pour into baked pie crust and bake again for 25 minutes at 350 degrees.

I hope this post has inspired you to try some of these recipes and spend some quality time outside. Please share and let us know if you celebrated the summer solstice and what you did. We can all inspire each other.
