10 Ways To Add Luxury To Your Bedroom
I am on a mission to create a master bedroom that belongs in the glossy pages of a home decor magazine. I am not a professional decorator but I know what I want. My budget is pretty low so this will be challenging. If you are like me and want a dreamy bedroom then don’t give up on creating the bedroom you always wanted! It is possible to give your bedroom a touch of style that will look expensive. Here are 10 ways to add luxury to your bedroom and it won’t break the bank.
Declutter
A cluttered room will never look expensive or classy. Get rid of anything that is taking too much space. If you have beautiful floors expose them. You bedroom should not be a storage space.
Change or add a beautiful chandelier.
I believe that lighting is the key to a gorgeous bedroom. When picking a lighting fixture make it something special that makes a statement. It doesn’t have to be expensive. There are plenty of lighting fixtures for under $150.
Here is a post that can give you some ideas of lighting fixtures.
Luxurious bedding
When picking bedding for your bed, look for the thread count on a comforter. Refer to the number of threads per square inch of fabric. For a higher thread count the fabric is softer, finer and cozier than one in a lower thread count. High quality cotton has a thread count of over 250. A luxurious comforter can add lots of style to your bed. Stick with a solid color like grey, white or creme. Try not to pick any crazy patterns. If you are looking for something unique, there are plenty of comforters that are unique and can create a wow factor. Laura Trevey gorgeous blue coral is perfect for something unique and coastal.
Art work
You don’t have to spend a fortune on art work when there are plenty of affordable wall decor art that look expensive. Whatever you choose make sure it reflects who you are. I love coastal art work. This one the “Ocean Sunset” is really growing on me.
Bring in the light
Dark bedroom rarely looks stylish. Create light by making sure the windows are clear of any drapes and bring in the light.
Change the furniture
Maybe you want to change the furniture in your bedroom but don’t want to spend too much. Pick one or two items. I love my bed and armoire, but not crazy about the end tables. So my pick to jazz up the place is Nash End Tables.
Additional tips!
-
- Paint the rooms white or gray
- Add an ottoman at the end of the bed
- Add a beautiful tray
- Add a pretty throw on your ottoman or edge of bed
