SAYING GOODBYE TO MY SPECIAL HOME

Never Say Forever!

It’s hard to believe that I am moving again! This was supposed to be my forever home. But things change and here we are doing it again. I thought it be nice to post one last time of this sweet home of mine so I can treasure the memories of all my projects. As you can see I have concrete floors and added lots of wooden beams throughout the main living space for a rustic feel. It’s an open floor plan similar to loft living.

Kitchen & Preparation Room

The kitchen area has cabinets on the lower part I did not add any uppers because I wanted that Tuscany style with lots of windows. There is a hallway behind refrigerator that leads to a preparation room that I use for my pantry and preparing my meals.

Laundry Room

My laundry room area is quite special. For the One Room Challenge I added a botanical theme. It’s a large space with a couch so I can read a book or magazine while waiting for the laundry. ๐Ÿ™‚

Upstairsย Bedroom

One Room Challenges is a wonderful way to get motivated to decorate a room under 6 weeks. This is my first challenge and It was so much fun. I found 2 old doors which Iย  painted and distressed them. I added two lights to give it a modern feel to something that is old.

Master Bathroom

My master bedroom has some unique features! My builder had embedded river rock along the edge of the bath tub for a very natural feel. The same river rock is in the shower floor. Again the concrete flooring flows through-out the downstairs

Being outside make me happy!

Outside is truly special! I am surrounded by a horse farm. So my back yard backs up it. The carriage house/garage is detached and it has large space upstairs with an apartment. I had that designed and constructed over the summer.

Its been magical living here!

Palmetto Bluff has been a great place to live for the past 11 years. I will miss it here, but I am not moving very far. Will be renting for about 10 months and planning on building again real soon. Will keep you update when the project starts.

  1. I really enjoyed visiting your blog Maria and seeing this one of a kind beautiful house. It will be sad to let it go since you have put so much of yourself into it. That much is obvious from all the unique features it has. But I know that you will also jump in to create a new home for yourself and make it all your own with your special decorating skills.

    1. Mary, its exciting and at the same sad. I imagine that you had a same situation leaving Greece. Going to a brand new place is fun. I love what you are doing to your new place.

  2. Ohhhh! But you just finished the garage apartment… I hope you enjoy your new rental! <3 I used to really enjoy moving from place to place but now I'm finding I just want to be home. ๐Ÿ™‚ {Moved over 40 times in my life.} I'm glad you shared this post with a quick look around your home; it's so hard to make that decision to move.

    Excited for your new adventure!

  15. JaneEllen says:

That’s quite a home to leave. I wouldn’t be too happy about having to leave it,so wonderful. When we left our 20 acres w/home in rural MT it was so hard for me to leave, still miss it very much. That time we moved to KY, loved our property there and house but climate didn’t agree with me at all so after 5 yrs. we moved to western CO. We’ll never have as nice a place as we had in MT nd KY here, too expensive here. But Mr.Furry says we’re too old to move again so here we’ll stay.Do have youngest daughter/family and youngest son/family here so that helps a lot.Two oldest kids live in San Diego areas.
Good luck in your move, hope ypu;ll be happy.
