Big Reveal: Space Above the Garage
Home is something that brings comfort when we think about it. I find that less is more when I decorate and that brings me comfort in my home. When there is too much going on, it creates stress in my life. That why I choose to decorate my room above the garage with a minimalistic feel to it. It soothing and relaxing. I am excited that the color of the stain I picked for the wood floors gives the room that wow factor!
Lighting Pendants For Kitchen Area
For lighting I choose a very simple look of hanging pendants that I found for such a great value! Need to add a few pictures in the background to bring out the lights otherwise it tends to gets wash out. Thats my only dislike is that I think I needed to pick a different shade. I can always change it out. But in person its more noticeable than on a blog post. So for that maybe I’ll keep them.
The cabinets were a creme color with brushed metal knobs, the sleek look of the stainless steel I feel gives the kitchenette such a clean and modern feel.
Hidden Storage Shelves.
I love my hidden storage shelves behind the wall when you walk up the stairs. There are 4 shelves that I can use for basically for anything. Right now I have some toilet paper, paper towels with cleaning supplies hiding out there.

Spend on areas that will add value to the home!
Most of my money for this project went toward reclaimed wood floors through-out, batten and board trim half way up the walls and the bathroom shower.
Just because it’s a room above the garage which is normally used for guests. Storage is important because it does add value to a home. You never know when company is coming and staying for a while. Having that extra space is helpful so things are kept tidy. The pocket door closet is big enough for 2 people staying for a few weeks. I also added a cedar closet at the bottom of the stairs for coats and luggage. With the smell of cedar, it gives a rustic vibe to the space.
