This year, I would like to honor a special momma, my fabulous sister Anna, who I’ll be creating a mother’s day garden tea party. I am going to set up this mother’s day tea in my backyard garden. This is actually easy to create if you like to plan it for your special mom in your life. I knew a tea party theme would be a perfect theme for my sister since she is a lover of teas and desserts. I went for more of french country vibe with blue and white china, and plenty of plants, flowers with nature as the backdrop.
To capture the whimsical-nature of the garden the tea party centerpieces were flowers called Cote Azure purple (purple bindweed found in the south of France). Matching blue & white china with matching pedestal cake plate, white linens, vintage sterling silver flatware and Lenox wine glasses. I almost forgot, a pretty white teapot by Porcellana De Paris, to keep that french vibe.
If you are thinking of having a garden tea party or a mother’s day high tea and don’t have the backyard for it, there are lots of options. Try your living room, local park, friend or neighbor’s backyard. (Don’t forget to invite them! )
- Apple Pie (totally homemade)
- Teas: Chamomile, Earl Grey and Kava Tea
- Pinot Grigio
I kept things light and easy for the dessert menu. The pie was a little more difficult for me. I am a better cook than baker. What started as a french apple pie turned into just a traditional apple pie. Let me tell you, I was determined to perfect the pie crust, and I did a pretty decent job! So here’s to you sis! Enjoy
