Outdoor Summer Barbecue Party Ideas

planning a barbecure party

PROPS

I started with a long folding table and covered it up with a cream colored tablecloth. I found some mason jars in the cupboard and used my colorful hanging plant as the centerpiece.

My favorite type of party to throw is an outdoor one! Perhaps it’s because I love being outside with nature. With all these summer holidays approaching, barbecues are a great excuse for family and friends to gather. so here are some outdoor summer barbecue party ideas. I was excited to work with Evite again, but this time creating a party for summer barbecues. This upcoming weekend,  I am having some friends over, so I tested out some BBQ-appropriate decor & recipe ideas.

LIGHTING

Fun lighting details can add a lot to decor, especially if you’re throwing an evening BBQ. I added tea lights inside the mason jars and scattered them around the center of the table. I also placed mini decorative lights placed inside the plant centerpiece and I strung outdoor lighting from one tree to another. Special thanks to my husband for telling the electrician to put enough outlets around our back yard. Keep the party alive by adding string lighting.  Adding all the lights in a different area creates a magical look.

MENU

Nothing like traditional BBQ food!

I’m creating a menu consisting of blackened marinated chicken, grilled squash and a healthy summer salad.

Healthy Summer Salad

Arugula & Mesclun Mix

Roasted cubed Butternut Squash

(Strawberries work nicely too, or try both if you’re feeling daring)

2 Tomatoes (chopped)

1/4 Purple onion(chopped)

Pistachio Nuts

Light goat cheese

Balsamic vinegar

Olive oil

Salt & Pepper

Just combined all the ingredients, add the salt, pepper, olive oil and vinegar to your liking.

Marinated the chicken in soy sauce, balsamic vinegar, and salt and pepper for a few hours, then place on grill until ready. Green Squash. Slice the green squash in wheels, place in aluminum foil. Added salt and pepper and olive oil for seasoning. Wrapped tightly and place on the grill for about 15 minutes
