How To Make Spicy Italian Turkey Meatballs
If you love hot spicy meatballs! Here is a recipe that will keep you coming for more. How to make spicy Italian turkey meatballs is a perfect recipe for parties.
Spicy Italian Turkey Meatballs:
For creating a menu for parties, I love cooking at least one Spicy dish. I grew up in an Italian Family. My father did the cooking for the holidays. He had this killer spicy meatball recipe. It always made a great conversation piece among our family and friends. Some could tolerate it others not so. In my recipe version I add less Chili pepper powder for those who like little.
Ingredients for Spicy Turkey Meatballs:
I try to use the freshest turkey meat I can find. For the bread crumbs I use gluten free. You can use regular bread crumbs. I also use egg whites instead of the yoke. To be honest I don’t see a difference in taste. The best onions for me are the white onion. I try to use quality ingredients because I truly feel it makes for a better taste. Sea salt, ground black pepper and the chili pepper powder . I purchase most of my seasons through Amazon or Whole Foods.
Mixing the Spicy Turkey Meatballs:
When you are adding the eggs and the breadcrumbs to the ground turkey if you feel its too juicy add more breadcrumbs. For me the 1 cup of bread crumbs is perfect. Add the salt, pepper and chili pepper powder. I don’t like adding too much chili pepper about 1/4 teaspoon should be the perfect punch. My father added almost 1 teaspoon which had us we were running to get something to drink every time we ate one. My recipe won’t have you doing that unless you want it to. At the end I added the chopped onions and mix well.
Make sure that the meat mixture has enough consistency to form the balls. If you feel it does not add little more breadcrumbs. I like making medium meatballs nothing to large or small. Bake them in the oven for 375 degrees for 30 minutes until they are evenly browned.
I really love these meatballs, they can be eaten alone, perfect for an appetizer, add them on a plate with vegetables or on the side, or even onto of your favorite tomato sauce.
