I love planning outdoor parties and setting a beautiful table. CUTE PICNIC IDEAS WITH A SOUTHERN CHARM
I wanted to add some colorful picnic decorations to give the table a wow factor. For a last-minute picnic table ideas, I think any bright colorful tablecloth would do the trick as well.
- I started with a stenciled picnic blanket as the tablecloth.
2. For a picnic centerpiece, I added two large lanterns with lots of succulents scattered around the table. I have been decorating with them lately and these little succulent candles are so cute.
3. For more picnic supplies I added my favorite William Sonoma plates and their crystal goblets that can be used for water, wine or lemonade. To make it even more stylish I added vintage silverware.

I love your table setting nestled among the moss covered trees. I’m impressed with your DIY tablecloth from a tarp. The yellow pops of color accent your dishes and lantern centerpiece. Succulents were the perfect choice of plant material for a summer alfresco tablescape.
I had trouble with the first comment freezing up but a second try was successful.
Bonnie, thank so much, this has been the handiest project I have made and its really has been useful too. I like those kinds of projects. Its a pleasure to have been in this challenge with you all.
Your table setting is awesome! What I love most about it is the simplicity and how it’s nestled among a naturalized, beautiful landscape. It looks so earthy and relaxed. How pretty!
Maria, love the sunshiny yellow stenciled cloth you used as your base. That setting is perfect with the dripping moss on the old tree, the water in background…..not much more is needed to make the perfect alfresco setting. The succulents and lanterns, though, are nice touches. Summer at its best!
What a beautiful and serene setting! Love the tree limb covered in Spanish moss, almost like a natural chandelier! The simplicity of your table is actually quite elegant, lovely!
You know that I’m going to shower you with praise for how simple, stunning, and idyllic this is — right?! Man, I wish I lived in area with such stunning landscaping, half the work of setting ambiance is already done for you! The yellow was a natural, and great, choice for the tablecloth, and everything else works so beautifully.
Well done, friend!
Thanks so much, coming from you such a great compliment! I know I am lucky but the weather here is hot! So yo have to like the heat to stay outside! I have grown to like that including the (no seums) bugs!
Maria, I love the simplicity of your tablescape! The Spanish moss is a good backdrop. I also have lots of Spanish moss growing on my shade trees…well, at least those shade trees that hurricane Irma didn’t take down. LOL Brilliant idea with the tarp for your tablecloth…I used paint tarps for the “curtains” on my lanai and they were such a bargain and have held up well. Yellow is one of my favorite colors. Great job.
