one room challenge week 3 accents

Hey guys! I hope you have been following the past couple of weeks. In case you have not be sure to check out week one here and week two. We are now into week three, and this is where all the pieces start falling together. I have been focusing on accents pieces and made some changes and additions.

one room challenge week 3 accents

In the first week I had chosen a white dresser as part of my mood board, but I decided to change the dresser to a dark wood one. I felt it was way too much white, and the dark color would give the room some depth. I went searching for something a bit darker and found a great dresser at Steinmart. I am picky when it comes to wood, so was surprised to find this, and at such a great deal! I like solid pieces, but this piece was well-made and the price was too great to pass up. Driving further down the road to Marshalls I found four Moroccan-inspired blue and white plates by Cynthia Rowley and the game changer was finding a Style Craft Bench that was to good to pass up.

The bedding and the throw from Country Curtains arrived yesterday. The fabric that is used to make the bedspread and throw are just beautiful. The fabric below is from discount fabric store, that will be used for making several pillows by yours truly. I love how everything is blending together, creating a great color scheme.

Progress is starting to come together nicely Maria! What a fun project you are doing, and exploring different styles until you find the perfect combo. Love the uniqueness of the plates hanging, and the bedding looks very elegant

I think the wood dresser is an excellent choice and agree that you need some contrast against the white. I’m looking forward to seeing how you pull the room together, since all the accessories and furnishings you’ve selected are really pretty.
