Outdoor Garden Ideas For Small Spaces

This has been a great year for me for my garden and outdoor living area. My little outdoor garden space at my rental home has been very easy to manage. So here are some outdoor garden ideas for small spaces.

I had sold my home a few miles away from where there were lots of deer so I never had the opportunity to grow a garden. This little cottage that I have has a white fence around the property. So there is no chance of deer getting through.

My first outside ideas was to create a raised garden in April and I can say happily that there is basil, cilantro, tomatoes, squash and peppers growing. The tomatoes and peppers are very small. By the end of July, I should have full-grown tomatoes and peppers. The squash will be more like the end of summer. It’s been great making lots of basil and cilantro recipes. You can read about my raised garden here!

I  added a table and chairs near the garden space where I can prepare the basil and dry it out in the sun. It’s also a great place to enjoy a glass of lemonade.

Also during the April month, I had planted some perennials in metal and wood containers that I had found at the flea market in Charleston. The flowers are blooming beautifully and have grown so much. It does take a daily dose of water each day to keep these beauties going. The garden chandelier has been a challenge getting on a ladder every day to water them. But I love it. Read more about how I made the garden chandelier and how to use unique containers for garden

I hope you all enjoying being outdoors. I am building a new home and it is going to be relatively small and this house has inspired me with some great small outdoor living ideas for us to bring to the new home.

Thanks for stopping by and please visit everyone beautiful at Garden Tour and Outdoor Spaces Blog Hop. I want to thanks Tara my  friend from Lehman Lane for organizing this.

  9. How beautiful and relaxing your backyard and front porch are! I’ve decided long ago that condo life is for me but this makes me rethink it just a bit. I wish my cats wouldn’t eat plants. Maybe I can try to grow a little something in my kitchen or living room and put it high up because seriously those strawberries are envy worthy! =)

    1. Condo life is good, is there any outdoors space your condo association has for homeowners to have a little garden. You can actually buy this little garden like this one to put on your patio, it just has a bottom.
