BIKING THE SANTA BARBARA WINE COUNTRY: PART 2

BIKING THE SANTA BARBARA WINE COUNTRY

Santa Barbara wine region is the quintessential wine country experience. You don’t have to fly 10 hours to get the rolling hills and vineyards  like in the Tuscany region. The city has dozens of tasting rooms and working wineries. For me it was that 45 minute drive over the mountains to the Santa Ynez region that was a mind-blowing experience. I  had to shut my eyes going over the mountains because the edge was that close.

Once over that mountain you enter the beautiful region of rolling hills and wineries. Our guide (Williams from I love Santa Barbara Biking) picked us up at the hotel in a comfortable van. It all started at Los Olivios  town where we tasted olive oils and  vinegar at the Olive Grove Farm Store. This sleepy town is where the movie Sideways was filmed. After olive oil tasting we cycled through the valley spotting  different wineries. The ride was tough going up hills but going down was my favorite. Our destination for lunch and wine tasting was at the Rideau Farms 15  mile trek. So you are probably wondering biking/ wine tasting sounds dangerous? We tasted wines after the bike ride. Safer that way

All good things must come to and end.

This vacation left such impression. From mountain to sea it had it all. This is our last day on the beach. We were pretty happy and looking forward to going home. When I arrived back home I felt so refreshed and healthy. I would recommend a biking vacation as least once.William from I love Santa Barbara Biking was amazing. Have you ever done a bike vacation? Love to hear about t.
