Memorial Day Family Barbecue

Today I get to share a few snaps of my Memorial Day BBQ with Family!

We all had so much fun at our family BBQ. I enjoyed putting the party scheme together with traditional red, white and blue. I  created a memorial bench where everyone wrote the name of a family member or friend who served in the Military. I used colorful pens so the names would stick out. You can find a very similar bench at Wayfair.

I created a lemonade table where I placed the bench so everyone helped themselves to lemonade because it was quite hot. The flowers for the dining table were red white and blue carnations and daisies placed in mason jars. My husband and son barbecued hamburgers and chicken, while my daughters made salads. I made brownies and a strawberry salad for dessert.

Best part  of the gathering everyone stopped a few minutes to sign the bench and think of those that served. It left a warm feeling in everyone’s heart…

The weather was super hot and a bit buggy, but everyone was a trooper and stay outside! When I noticed my son was dripping wet we headed inside for dessert and strawberries. We rushed  inside and my daughter dropped her dinner plate, but it was funny and got a good laugh out of it. Once we were all settled inside, we laughed and joked about the ants that made there way onto our plates. Have you ever had a cray barbecue where everything went wrong but you still had fun. I hope you all had a great  Memorial Weekend! Let me know your best barbecue experience. Love to hear about, it, plus always love to laugh.
