HEALTHY BLOGGER TIPS: How to balance it all

I wanted to engage in a topic that I know plague many of us, which is  how to balance it all. Most of us who blog have a tons on our plates (even those who don’t blog have too much on their plates!). There is no question that I live a hectic lifestyle. The older I get, the more I crave a harmonious life… More white, sandy beaches, trips to the spa and walks in the park!

I take care of my family, pets & home, I manage the family business, I exercise, I blog, and I socialize. Makes for a crazy lifestyle! To keep it all sane while adding some harmony to my life, I live by a few rules (some new, some old), which I’ve broken down these healthy blogging tips here to share with you all!

HEALTHY BLOGGER TIPS: How to balance it all!

1- Organization has not been my strong suit, but since I started blogging I’ve developed good de-clutter skills at every aspect of my life– from home, business and blog.

2- Keeping a journal. I can honestly say it’s the best way to stay focused and organized. There have been times where I started using a journal and ended up not following through with it. Those bad habits are virtually under wraps  since my blog has been growing, which has increased the need for more fun home decor challenges.

4-Relaxing is something we need to take seriously. Even though I am a firm believer of the saying “don’t take things too serious,”  I do get overwhelmed. Taking relaxing “me time” makes a big difference in my life.

  14. Hi Maria! I was just wondering this morning which one of these posts were yours b/c I see your name under the comments section on other blogs all the time, so it’s good to get to know you a little better. You are a great commenter! Thanks for your thoughtful post. I can relate to all your points, especially taking time to exercise & having some “me” time. Although I’ve had a lot of “me” time lately due to having to sit a lot recovering from broken bones. I’ve used the time to work on my blog and engage the community. I also like your point about journaling. I mention that in my post about “surviving widowhood,” and it helped me a lot at the time. I have never started an editorial calendar as people recommend to do, but I’ve been thinking lately, it’s probably a good idea to start one. I will be pinning your post to my “blogging tips” Pinterest board.

  21. Maria, It’s taking me a while to get through the fiftyandfab posts, but I wanted to take my time. I love this. Your relaxed attitude is inspiring. Funny that we were both thinking along the same lines – a journal and for me, the blog is my journal. Same principle though… I just have to be a bit selective with what I put “out there” 🙂

As always, love your photos. These are fun!

    1. Hi Pam, thanks for being a great blogging friend and stopping by, its important to support each other, we are all busy, but my friends in this group are special.

  22. A really enjoyable Post. Balance is indeed key and I agree that as we age having things more harmonious and Zen really is something I seek in earnest much more than my Youth. I thoroughly Enjoy the quiet times, the insignificant things that are important to me even if they are to nobody else. As for organization, it is a process for me since chronic disorganization tends to be how I’m hard-wired and rewiring myself to simplify life has not been as easy or effortless as just wanting to! Blogging has been a wonderful way to connect to kindred Spirits and feed my Soul while full time Caregiving and having to make sacrifices I didn’t expect and had to find a Peace about. I initially Blogged just for myself but now I realize an entire Community can benefit from our Blogs so I take it much more seriously than I did in the beginning. 1. Love your style and your creativity to life. Take one day at a time and one project at a time and you can do it.
