If you’ve been fortunate enough to have a great weather so far this spring then you know that this is the key to creating fun garden ideas outside. Much of my attention this spring has been exactly that outside entertaining and gardening. So I was super excited to be part of the Wayfair Plant Outside the Box campaign.
The purpose of this project is to create something unusual that your would not normally see in your outdoor space. After some exploring I found a 3 tier tin metal tray that typically is used for desserts or china.
With the 3 tier tray, assorted herb and barbecue herb recipe I am ready to create my project that can easily be used as a centerpiece for my outdoor dining table and as well as a portable garden next to my barbecue.
Now that it’s officially barbecue weather, let this cute herb project make it easy for you to entertain and decorate.
3 Tier tin tray
Adding the soil and herb plants to the tray!
Plant- Cook -Eat
You want to add a little soil to each tier. So that the plants can grow nicely. The plants already have soil attach to them so adding more soil around keeps them secure and happy. Once all the assorted herbs are planted give them some water to drink. I am sure they are very thirsty. Now you are ready to decorate the table and cook!
DECORATE & COOK
After creating the barbecue recipe (recipe below) I carried the tray over to the dining table and used it as our centerpiece. It looked really lovely.
Barbecue Rosemary Marinade
1 rosemary stem
1 glove of garlic
Salt to taste
Squeeze all the lemon juice into a bowl, chop the garlic, fresh rosemary and add to lemon juice mix well. Add salt to taste.
I lathered the chicken with the marinade. I threw it on the barbecued along with sliced potatoes for a yummy dinner. Are you planning a herb garden for your next project? Have a wonderful Summer !
