I’ve dabbled in making a few candle holders here and there, and honestly, it’s always a mix of excitement and stress. Maybe that’s why I’ve only done a handful so far. The process can be a bit nerve-wracking, trying to get everything just right, but there’s also something really satisfying about seeing the final product.
If you’re looking for a little motivation to dive into a new project, you should definitely try making this easy mussel shell candle holder. It’s simple, doesn’t require a ton of materials, and the result is pretty cool. Plus, working with natural elements like mussel shells adds a unique touch, and it’s fun to see how each one turns out a little different. Give it a shot you might find it more enjoyable than you expect!
Tips: Always check to make sure when you glue the shells on a dry glass holder.

I glued the shells on the glass container. It was a bit tricky because if the glass is wet, the glue won’t stick properly.
So, you really have to make sure the glass is completely dry before you start. I had to wipe it down a few times just to be sure.
Once the glass was dry, I carefully glued each shell on, pressing them down a little to make sure they stayed in place. This part took some patience because the shells can slip if you’re not careful. After all the shells were glued on, I let it sit for 24 hours so the glue could dry completely and hold the shells firmly.
After waiting the full 24 hours, I poured some small rocks into the bottom of the glass container. I spread them out evenly to make a nice base. Then, I placed the candle right on top of the rocks, making sure it was centered and steady. And that’s it it’s simple, but it looks really nice when it’s all done.

I’m sure your daughter is so excited to have such a gorgeous space!
