Every wall is a blank canvas. To add some distinction to walls and ceilings is nice to add some pop! In my nature home I decided to add wood planks. It can be expensive, so I thought I go with affordable mdf board which is an engineered wood made from wood scraps.
Nick from Reclamation by Design………..fantastic job in installing the wood planks
My builder Reclamation By Design suggested even though the mdf board is less expensive than real wood planks its labor intensive to put up and it better to use wood wall planks because its easier to work with. I went to a few homes under construction in the area and noticed there were some flaws from the mdf board they used, it can actually bubbled up if it’s not installed perfectly, so I was convinced in the long run wood planks would be the best choice.
My first choice for positioning the planks in the kitchen was horizontal. I saw some classy horizontal wall designs of kitchens in pinterest and it looked great. Another suggestion was to put the planks vertical which will make the kitchen look bigger. I agree! Because I love the horizontal look I choose that for going up the stairs. It gives it a cozy and a contemporary feel.
The final phase will be painting the wall planks white to give that simple and clean look. The grain is pretty but I can’t wait to paint them.
