Recently I sold my home. I downsized from 3700 square feet to a 1800 square feet rental. I will be renting for one year until my home is built. I have several pets so it was very hard to find a rental that takes pets. I finally found a cute little cottage that allowed pets so I had to do some creative storage ideas to make space for some of my misc kitchen things. Since much of my furniture is in storage. So I took an old TV stand and transformed it into a buffet cabinet that I can use for extra storage in the kitchen area.
Here ‘s how its done!
- White Primer
- White Semi Gloss Paint
- Vintage Patina Wash
- Decorative Tin Inserts
- New Knobs
When spreading the patina wash use a clean brush. Take the clean white cloth and spread it evenly all over so that the wash blends evenly with the some of the white paint showing through.
Applying Tin Inserts
Measure the front of the door and cut out the tin inserts. Glue with adhesive on the front of the door. Let dry for 24 hours before attaching the door back to cabinet. Do the same thing inside the door.
I changed the knobs to a brushed nickel finish. It made a big difference from the plain wooden ones.
There are so many ideas to create storage spaces. I hope you enjoyed this one. The patina wash I used did not photograph the true patina color but you can see it on the door in step 2.
Thanks to Decor Art for supplying the wash.
