St Patrick Day is not just for the Irish. People all over the world celebrate in different ways. Since all my kids are grown, I thought I share a romantic St. Patrick’s day dinner for two ideas to let your sweetheart fall lucky in love.
I prepared a romantic dinner all with green food ideas. I used my fine china and a special wine from my collection for a special occasion. I wanted the St. Patrick dishes menu to have a green vegetable so I picked broccoli and a fun green dessert. The menu I planned is not your typical Irish Food, but as long as it has something green in it works for me. This is going to be an easy St. Patrick’s day filled with relaxation, love and fun.
Savory Sausage & Broccoli Quiche
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1⁄2 lb sweet sausage
- 1 clove garlic, minced
- 1⁄2 small white onion, chopped
- 1 deep dish pie plate
- 1 cup broccoli floret
- 1 cup low-fat mozzarella cheese,
- 1 cup low-fat milk.
In a pan saute garlic, onions and sausage. In a separate bowl prepare the eggs and milk. Boil the broccoli florets until tender. Combine the broccoli, sausage mixture with the eggs mixture and pour into greased deep dish pie plate. Add the mozzarella on top and bake for 45 minutes until golden brown. I like mine extra crispy.
Luck of the Irish Mini Brownies
- Package of brownie mix
- Cake icing
- Green food coloring
- Mini cupcake pan
Prepare the brownies according to instructions. Pour into mini cupcake pan, or if you don’t have one fill traditional cupcake pan half way. Bake according to instructions. Once they are fully baked, take out and cool. Add 1 teaspoon of green food coloring to cake icing. Add it to the top of the mini brownies.
I picked a little spot in the living space near the fireplace to set up our little dining space for us. I played some fun jazz music and it was relaxing and this are the days I truly enjoy with my husband.
This was the first time I made this broccoli & Sausage recipe. I could not stop eating it, maybe it was the wine that opened up my appetite. But the combination with the brownie too was definitely my favorite. Will be making these recipes again.
I am in love with the color of these flowers, it sort of reminds me of Valentine Day, but in a way to me St. Patrick’s Day is another reason to be reminded how lucky I am to have love in my life.
Hope you all have a great St. Patrick’s Day this Sunday. Obviously I am celebrating early. My grandson was born March 16 and we are celebrating his first birthday this weekend!
