How To Paint Chinoiserie Ornaments
Hello my friends, I hope your holiday preparation is going well. I have been a busy bee for the last few months. Opened up my Etsy store and its been going great. One of the handmade items in there is the Blue and White Chinoiserie Ornament. I have always wanted to learn to make one and since I love to paint it was pretty easy projects. For this painting project, you need a steady hand. It doesn’t need to be perfect but with a few practices on paper, you can get it. You can find many designs to get inspired by other blue and white vases or ornaments.
White glass ornaments
Artist brush #3
Blue sharpie (Ulta fine) & (fine tip)
With a cotton ball clean all the ornaments with alcohol.
With an ultra-fine tip sharpie on paper and start drawing the flower petal. Think of a raindrop with points on both ends. Make 5 petal drops where they both meet at the end. Do the same flower next to it and then underneath. A total of three 5 petal flower on each side of the white ornament.
Below are some samples petals you can practice on paper before you draw them on the glass ornaments.
With the extra fine sharpie draw a long line connecting all the flowers.
With a #3 artist paintbrush paint the inside of the flower carefully with all-purpose paint by DecoArt
Draw little leaves on the long stems. Here is a small diagram you can practice on paper.
These pretty painted ornaments can be used on a holiday tree or just in a bowl or baskets as a centerpiece on your table. For more chinoiserie projects see how pretty my blue and white holiday stocking is.
