Flowers are already blooming in my neighborhood. The sun was vibrant, and everyone and everything was out this Saturday taking advantage of it.
We saw lots of wild life sunning! Check out all the gators who came out from hibernation to get a suntan. This picture was taken not far from my house. This is a family of gators who come out ever time it’s warm. It’s always the same group! My oldest daughter freaks out when she seems them each time.
Cormorants are coastal birds that love to spread their wings and bask in sun. This cormorant is about to dive headfirst into the water. They swim under the water looking for fish for about 20 seconds. It’s just amazing to watch them take a swan dive!
The beautiful May River at this time of year is calm and quiet! The calm before the storm…Pretty soon vacationers will be here cruising around in their boats.
I never get tired of photographing the abundance of different species of tree and plants along the May River. The May River is unique, in that it’s salt water, so lots of coastal plants grow alongside it. My particular favorite is the “saw palmetto”. These plants love to grow under oak trees. We have them everywhere in our landscaping.
This picture is evidence that the saw palmetto plants rule the lowcountry! I sit in this particular area when I having a few minutes to myself to enjoy the outside, and think about my family & happiness.
I hope, my friends, you have a place that you can relax for a few minutes that keeps you happy too!
