Dressing up the planter with more green & small colorful flowers!
I took out my old plants from the previous year, and decided to plant some new ones. I asked my neighbor Valerie, who has a green thumb, what would be the best plants to use to replenish my pot. She suggested mexican heather flowers. As you can see the entry way look so much better with the planters having more green in them
I m so amazed how quickly the butterfy plants are growing.
Even when you think you have the design ideas set in stone, something always changes!
In the first week, I had chosen a blue and white rug, (see post here) but the more I looked at the blue, the more thought it was to bold for my home. So I decided to tone it down a bit, and opted for a more subtle color. Found this blueish green rug at World Market that matched my shutters. I’m still planning to use everything else.
I am happy with the adjustments because I think the colors will blend well together nicely with the green plants!
I received my beautiful hanging water garden by Vermont Nature Creations this past week. When I opened the package, I was so impressed with the way it was carefully packaged. Each of the pieces are beautifully hand crafted. Truly a work of art. It was very easy to put all the pieces together. The vase easily fit onto the center of the design. I added blue glass stones into the vase as well. The art piece even came with an assorted plants such as philodendron, ivy and wandering jew, which were kept moist in an air-tight plastic bag. Eventually I will be hanging this along side the bench in the entryway.
Stay tuned for the final reveal in a few weeks! Stop by the other gals projects to see what they have been up to & progress they’ve made in the challenge!
